Information & Advocacy A core service promoting independence, involvement and interests of older people, providing support with making choices and taking decisions. Active Living A project encouraging and supporting the over 50s with a wide range of activities, aiming to reduce isolation and loneliness. Befriending Befriending of lonely, vulnerable older people by volunteers who will visit homes on a regular basis to provide companionship and support.
HOPWA House Day Centre A bright, optimistic and stimulating centre for day opportunities in Hornchurch, encouraging people to develop existing and new skills and interests. Paines Brook Court Day Centre A centre in Harold Hill providing companionship, meals and a range of stimulating and enjoyable activities for the physically frail and those with Dementia. Brights Centre A safe, happy environment at a centre in Rainham, providing entertainment, exercise, outings, new friendship opportunities and much more.
Advisory Service Our helpful and experience staff can offer good quality information, advice and support to people diagnosed with Dementia and their carers. Outreach Service Outreach Coordinators aim to improve awareness and understanding of Dementia by providing training in the community. Peer Support Clubs Clubs for the over 65s in the early to moderate stages of Dementia, providing a wide range of stimulating and meaningful activities. Companion Service A service providing 'me time' for carers and family members of those diagnosed with Dementia. Younger Persons' Group An active group of under 65s diagnosed with Dementia meeting once a week to socialise and take part in various activities. SHIELD Project A Carer Support Programme aiming to improve the health, wellbeing and quality of life for those with Dementia and their carers.
Pomelo Care A simple and affordable option for those older people who want to stay in their own home and need the support and care to do this.
Stroke Support Arranged visits to the stroke sufferer and their carers to give them information on what's available to them in the Borough.
Transport Services Three luxury mini buses with drivers available for bookings, fitted with a tail lift to support all your transport needs.
Toenail Cutting Service Footcare provided by Pomelo Care Services, including toenail and fingernail cutting as well as basic corn and callus treatment available at various locations across Havering and Barking & Dagenham.
